Build a Pet First-Aid Kit

Keep gauze, vet wrap, blunt-tip scissors, tweezers, saline rinse, a digital thermometer, a muzzle or soft wrap, a spare leash, and copies of vaccination records in one labeled bag.

Know the Warning Signs

Learn to recognize signs that need urgent evaluation: difficulty breathing, pale gums, bloated abdomen, repeated vomiting, seizures, collapse, suspected toxin exposure, heatstroke, or trauma.

Save Emergency Numbers

Post your regular veterinarian, the nearest 24-hour emergency animal hospital, and a pet poison hotline on your fridge and in your phone before you ever need them.

Care Does Not Replace a Vet

First aid is a bridge to professional care, not a substitute. When in doubt, call your veterinarian or the nearest emergency clinic right away.

This page is educational only and does not replace veterinary care. Always contact your veterinarian or the nearest emergency clinic for medical concerns.
